Some time ago, one of my Friends commented that she wanted a belt bag, I was looking around the shops for inspiration, but the nicest ones had zippers and I had never sewn a zipper, so it made me feel very frustrated, but at the same time it gave me the courage to try to make one of these with a zipper. So I started to look on the internet for a blog or some tutorial to make a belt bag, and I found this great blog:  http://paramipequeconamor.blogspot.com.es/  that not only taught me how to make one of these, but I found a lot of interesting ideas for Mr. Txikitito and in general. If some one of you has babies or children, I recommended checking it out. Anyway I made the belt bag, but I have to say that the best of the two ways to sew the zipper is to add the piece of fabric behind, and the size to the hole should to be a maximum of 1cm and no more than that because then you won’t be able to sew the zipper. I made the hole bigger, and I had to make the front of the project again. I made some changes to the original design, because my friend likes to use belts and I thought that if I made the belt bag including the belt, she couldn’t use her own belts, so I modified the front design so that it didn’t have one. I added belt holders behind, just sewing on the cover. I have to confess that I wasn’t very happy with the combination of colors but my friend is a little conservative and didn’t like to call attention, and I try to make it with an strong material. I would like to make it complete with denim but it will be very fat to sew. In any case, I think it wasn’t very ugly. My friend is very thankful and she said that she really likes it, which makes me very happy.

To inaugurate this new page on my blog and take advantage that the next festival to celebrate is Easter, I have left here some websites with interesting tutorials for decorating Easter eggs. I’m not used to celebrating this festival because in my country we don’t have this tradition, and here in Spain the most traditional is to give chocolate Easter eggs as presents, so I haven’t prepared anything. In any case and just in case it could serve as information,  I remember that, when we were children, my great-aunt and sometimes my mom, would give us empty eggs for us to play by painting them. When they were going to prepare cakes or simply omelets, they would make a small hole in each end with a fork, then they would blow from one of the holes and all of the egg’s insides would go out through the other hole. They would use the eggs for whatever they wanted and then we had to clean the insides of the eggs very carefully, and then we would paint them with template or color pencils.
